King Day of Service

December 8, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. recognized the power of service to strengthen communities and achieve common goals.

According to MLKDay.gov:

Initiated by Congress in 1994, King Day of Service builds on his legacy by transforming the federal holiday honoring Dr. King into a national day of community service grounded in his teachings of nonviolence and social justice.

The 2009 King Day of Service is on January 19.

Would you be interested in putting together a campaign around this concept? The strategy could include something as simple as an email or additional things such as an advocacy campaign and/or promotion of special projects. There are lots of opportunities here so be creative!
